All Government Agency

A single national government's own department, regulator or statistical agency for energy, including the United States Department of Energy as the cabinet department, the United States Energy Information Administration as its statistics arm, and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission as the independent regulator of interstate electricity and gas. Belongs here: an organ of one national government exercising a policy, regulatory or statistical function domestically. Does not belong here: a body whose membership spans multiple national governments, grouped under Intergovernmental Organization; a national laboratory, which performs research rather than policy, regulation or statistics, grouped under National Laboratory even where it is government-funded.
