Transformers

Devices that raise or lower voltage between circuits by magnetic induction, from large power transformers to distribution, current, voltage and grounding transformers. A technology belongs here when its cited article describes a transformer or a particular type of transformer. It excludes voltage regulators and switchgear. Transformers carry electrical power between circuits at different voltages without moving parts, from large units at a power station to the small units on a street, and some measure current or voltage for protection. A device is placed here when the cited article describes a transformer type.
