Gas Turbines and Jet Engines

Continuous-flow engines in which air is compressed, fuel is burned in it and the hot gas spins a turbine or leaves as a fast jet that pushes the vehicle forward. A technology belongs here when its cited article describes a gas turbine or a jet engine. It excludes piston engines and steam turbines, which work on different principles. Both machines pull in air, compress it, burn fuel in it and use the expanding gas, one to spin a shaft and the other to push a craft forward with a fast jet. A machine is placed here by the cited article.
