Water Turbines

Turbines that turn flowing water into rotation, including the Francis, Kaplan, Pelton, crossflow, Deriaz, Gorlov helical, Archimedes screw, Segner, Steff and Kouris Centri designs. A technology belongs here when its cited article describes a water turbine. These turbines are matched to the head and flow of the water they work in, with impulse designs for high heads and reaction designs for lower ones, and they are the heart of a hydroelectric plant. A technology is placed here by the water turbine design the cited article describes.
