World Nuclear Association

Industry and Professional Association

World Nuclear Association is the international organization representing the global nuclear industry, with members drawn from every part of the nuclear fuel cycle: uranium mining, conversion and enrichment, fuel fabrication, plant manufacture, transport, and the disposal of used fuel, as well as electricity generation itself. Its members together are responsible for about 70 percent of the world nuclear power generated worldwide. The Association was founded in 2001, built on the earlier Uranium Institute, itself founded in 1975, and it runs a secretariat of around 30 staff from London, facilitating technical, commercial and policy cooperation among members and promoting public understanding of nuclear technology.
