CETO

Marine Conversion

CETO is a wave-energy technology developed by the Australian company Carnegie Clean Energy and its international subsidiaries. It is a fully submerged buoy-based device that converts the kinetic energy of ocean swell into electrical power, and in some installations also drives reverse osmosis to desalinate seawater directly. CETO devices have been tested and deployed at sites including Western Australia, with some installations connected to the electrical grid to power onshore facilities and produce fresh water. The name derives from Ceto, a sea-associated figure in Greek mythology.
