Prospective Nuclear Energy

Nuclear energy options that are still being developed rather than widely used, namely nuclear fusion, which joins light nuclei, and thorium, a fertile element proposed as an alternative reactor fuel to uranium. A source belongs here when its cited article describes an energy route based on fusion or thorium. It excludes the uranium-fuelled fission reactors now in service, and it is kept separate because neither route has yet been commercialised at scale.
