A luminescent solar concentrator, or LSC, is a device that concentrates radiation, particularly sunlight, to produce electricity. It operates by collecting radiation over a large area and converting it by luminescence, specifically by fluorescence, then directing the resulting radiation into relatively small photovoltaic solar cells positioned at the device's edges, allowing a comparatively small area of solar cell material to harvest light gathered across a much larger surface.
