Absorption-Compression Heat Pump

Heating and Cooling

An absorption-compression heat pump integrates an electric compressor into an absorption heat pump, in some configurations by combining a vapor-compression heat pump with an absorption heat pump; it is also called a hybrid heat pump, though that is a broader field. Because it draws on both thermal and electrical energy sources, it can maximize heating and cooling output from a given amount of fuel or raise the temperature of waste heat from other processes, and it pairs well with cogeneration systems that produce both heat and electricity.
