Concentrator photovoltaics, also called concentrating or concentration photovoltaics, is a solar technology that generates electricity from sunlight using lenses or curved mirrors to focus sunlight onto small, highly efficient multi-junction solar cells, rather than the flat panels used in conventional photovoltaic systems. Concentrator photovoltaic systems often add solar trackers, and sometimes a cooling system, to raise their efficiency further.
