Proton Exchange Membrane Electrolysis

Hydrogen Production

Proton exchange membrane electrolysis is the electrolysis of water carried out in a cell fitted with a solid polymer electrolyte that conducts protons, separates the product gases, and electrically insulates the electrodes. It was introduced to overcome the partial-load, low current density and low pressure limits of the earlier alkaline electrolyzer, and it works through a proton exchange membrane.
