A dry scrubber is one of a diverse group of air pollution control devices used to remove particulates or gases from industrial exhaust streams. Where a traditional wet scrubber washes pollutants from a gas stream with liquid, a dry scrubber instead injects a dry reagent or slurry into the exhaust stream to wash out acid gases. Scrubbers of both kinds are among the primary devices used to control gaseous emissions, especially acid gases, and can also recover heat from hot gases by flue-gas condensation.
