The Climate and Safety Reckoning

The period from 1986 to 2015 spanning the Chernobyl disaster, the Kyoto Protocol, the Deepwater Horizon disaster, the Fukushima Daiichi accident and the Paris Agreement. Belongs here: a milestone from this atlas dated 1986 through 2015, when major nuclear and oil safety failures and international climate agreements defined the period. Does not belong here: an earlier milestone, grouped under its own period; a milestone after 2015, which this atlas does not yet carry and which a future mint lane should place here or open a new period for, on its own judgment at that time.
