Cerro Prieto Geothermal Power Station is a geothermal power complex south of Mexicali in Baja California, Mexico, operated by the state utility Comision Federal de Electricidad. Its first unit began operating in 1973, and additional units were added through the following decades to bring the complex's installed capacity to about 820 megawatts across five operating units. By overall size it is the largest complex of geothermal power stations in the world, and by energy output it ranks second largest, behind only The Geysers in California.
