The power station near Selby in North Yorkshire whose four 645 megawatt units burn compressed wood pellets, the biomass its operator Drax Group converted the plant to as its two remaining coal units ceased commercial operation in March 2021. The operator states it supplies about five percent of UK power and ten percent of UK renewables, around 14 terawatt-hours a year, the most renewable power of any single location in the country; those are the operator's own figures, carried here as such.
