Fengning Pumped Storage Power Station is a pumped storage hydroelectric plant in Fengning Manchu Autonomous County, Hebei Province, China, about 145 kilometers northwest of Chengde. Construction began in 2013, its first generator was commissioned in 2019, and its final turbine came online in August 2024, giving the underground station 12 Francis pump turbines and an installed capacity of 3,600 megawatts, the largest of any pumped storage power station in the world. With a hydraulic head of 425 meters and a storage capacity of about 40 gigawatt hours, the plant generates roughly 3.42 terawatt hours a year.
