The Tesla-built lithium-ion battery near Jamestown, South Australia, completed at 100 megawatts and 129 megawatt-hours in November 2017 and expanded in September 2020 to 150 megawatts and 193.5 megawatt-hours. Its owner and operator Neoen calls it the world's first big battery; at completion it was widely described as the largest lithium-ion battery in the world, a title larger installations have since taken. It sells grid services, above all fast frequency response, alongside stored energy.
