London Array is an offshore wind farm about 20 kilometers off the Kent coast in the outer Thames Estuary, in the United Kingdom. It began generating power in October 2012 and was formally inaugurated in July 2013, with 175 turbines spread across 122 square kilometers of seabed giving it a capacity of 630 megawatts. It was the largest offshore wind farm in the world until the Walney Extension, also in United Kingdom waters, reached full production in September 2018. The project cost about 1.8 billion pounds, and its owners have included E.ON UK, Greencoat UK Wind, La Caisse and Masdar.
