Natural Gas & LNG Pioneers

Leonid Bokhanovsky is a Russian energy executive who served as the first Secretary General of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum from December 2009 to 2013. Before that role he was first vice president of the Russian pipeline construction firm Stroytransgaz. As Secretary General he pushed for coordinated investment among the forum's member countries, argued for keeping natural gas prices linked to oil prices in long-term contracts, and encouraged the forum's expansion as a possible counterweight to OPEC.
