Flame

A fossil fuel consisting mostly of methane, burned for electricity, heating and industry, and moved worldwide by pipeline and as liquefied natural gas. Gas-fired combined cycle plants are among the most efficient thermal generators, and gas emits roughly half the carbon dioxide of coal per unit of electricity, which placed it at the center of debates over its role in the energy transition.
