Massimo Moratti

Massimo Moratti, born 16 May 1945, is an Italian petroleum businessman who has chaired the Saras Group, the oil refining company his father Angelo Moratti helped build. Saras operates the Sarroch refinery on Sardinia, one of Europe's largest refining complexes, with a capacity of about 300,000 barrels per day and roughly 15 percent of Italy's total refining capacity. Under his leadership the group also expanded into electricity generation and wind power. He inherited his stake in Saras after his father's death and holds a degree in political science.
