Ye Jianming, born 23 February 1977, is a Chinese businessman who founded and chaired CEFC China Energy, a conglomerate that grew into a Fortune Global 500 energy and finance company ranked 229th in 2016 with more than 30,000 employees. He built CEFC into one of China's largest private oil and energy trading groups before the company collapsed. In March 2018 he was detained in China on suspicion of economic crimes including bribery, reportedly on the order of the country's leadership, and the Shanghai city government's investment arm subsequently took control of CEFC China Energy.
