Dehumidifier

Heating and Cooling

A dehumidifier is an air conditioning device that reduces and maintains the level of humidity in the air, usually for health or thermal comfort reasons or to eliminate musty odor and prevent the growth of mildew by extracting water from the air. It is used in household, commercial and industrial applications, including large units in commercial buildings such as indoor ice rinks and swimming pools, manufacturing plants and storage warehouses. There are two common types: condensate dehumidifiers, which use a refrigeration cycle to collect water as condensate, and desiccant dehumidifiers, also called absorption dehumidifiers, which bond moisture with hydrophilic materials such as silica gel.
