The Saudi state oil company, headquartered in Dhahran, holder of the world's largest proven crude oil reserves at more than 270 billion barrels and operator of the largest single hydrocarbon network, the Master Gas System. It traces to the California-Arabian Standard Oil concession of 1933; a royal decree of November 1988 created the present Saudi Arabian Oil Company, and its December 2019 listing, at about 1.88 trillion dollars, made it the most valuable listed company in the world at the time.
