Sir Robert Evans, 28 May 1927 to 24 July 2020, was a British businessman who spent nearly his entire career at British Gas, rising within the company to chief executive and then chairman from 1989 to 1993. He was born in Liverpool, England, and led the company through a significant period in Britain's natural gas industry.
