Natural Gas & LNG Pioneers

Rodney John Allam is an English engineer who is named with Jeremy Eron Fetvedt, Miles R. Palmer and G. William Brown Jr. as an inventor of the Allam cycle, also called the Allam-Fetvedt cycle. The cycle is a process for converting carbonaceous fuels into thermal energy while capturing the generated carbon dioxide and water, a recuperated high pressure Brayton cycle using a transcritical carbon dioxide working fluid with oxy-fuel combustion. MIT Technology Review recognized it on its 2018 list of 10 Breakthrough Technologies, and the cycle was validated in May 2018 at a 50 megawatt thermal natural gas fed test facility in La Porte, Texas.
